SAYEBOOK PUBLISHING TERMS

The approved terms for authors, publishers, rights holders, and other authorized persons who submit works for publication or sale through SayeBook.
These Publishing Terms apply to authors, publishers, rights holders, and other authorized persons who submit works for publication or sale through SayeBook.
They supplement the SayeBook Terms of Service, Content Guidelines, Acceptable Use Policy, and any commercial agreement separately accepted for an author or publisher account.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into an agreement to publish through SayeBook.
If you act on behalf of a publisher, organization, rights holder, or another person, you represent that you have authority to act on their behalf and to grant the rights necessary for SayeBook to distribute the submitted work.
2. Ownership of Your Work
You retain ownership of the copyright and other intellectual-property rights that you own in your work.
Publishing through SayeBook does not transfer ownership of your copyright to SayeBook.
Unless a separate written agreement expressly provides otherwise, publishing through SayeBook is non-exclusive. You may publish, distribute, or sell the same work through other channels.
3. License Granted to SayeBook
When an accepted work is made available through SayeBook, you grant SayeBook a non-exclusive license to use the work and associated materials as reasonably necessary to operate, market, and provide the SayeBook marketplace.
This includes permission to host, store, technically process, reproduce as necessary for platform operation, display, promote, distribute, and deliver the work to customers.
The license also permits SayeBook to display approved metadata, cover artwork, author information, samples, and previews and to use them to promote the title or SayeBook catalogue.
SayeBook may use service providers as reasonably necessary to operate these services.
This license does not transfer ownership of your work to SayeBook.
4. Supported Formats
SayeBook currently supports eBooks and audiobooks.
Requirements may differ by format. Authors are responsible for complying with the technical, editorial, rights, and submission requirements applicable to the format submitted.
5. Editorial Review
Submitting a work does not guarantee publication.
SayeBook may review new submissions and significant changes for compliance with its technical requirements, Content Guidelines, metadata standards, quality requirements, and rights requirements.
SayeBook may request corrections or additional information or decline a submission.
Approval of an author account does not automatically approve every title submitted by that author.
Likewise, editorial approval of a submission does not necessarily mean that the title becomes publicly available immediately. Catalogue preparation and publication steps may still be required.
6. Your Rights and Responsibilities
You represent that you own or otherwise possess all rights and permissions necessary to submit, publish, distribute, and sell the materials you provide to SayeBook.
- manuscript text;
- cover artwork;
- illustrations and photographs;
- translations;
- excerpts or quotations;
- audiobook recordings;
- narration and performance rights;
- music or sound incorporated into an audiobook; and
- other third-party material.
You must not knowingly submit material that infringes another person's copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights.
If a work has multiple rights holders, you are responsible for obtaining the necessary authorization from them.
7. Metadata
You are responsible for providing materially accurate information about your work, including its title, author or contributor information, description, language, categories, format, and pricing information.
Metadata must not intentionally mislead customers.
SayeBook may correct formatting, classification, obvious errors, or other catalogue information when reasonably necessary to maintain catalogue accuracy. Material changes affecting authorship, ownership, or the substance of a work should not be made merely as catalogue corrections.
8. Pricing and Currency
Authors may set or propose prices using the pricing controls made available through SayeBook, subject to applicable platform requirements and the author's commercial agreement.
Where SayeBook uses USD as the authoritative transaction currency, the applicable USD price is authoritative for the transaction and related royalty calculations unless a separately accepted commercial agreement provides otherwise.
Customer-facing amounts displayed in other currencies may be approximate conversions for convenience and do not independently change the underlying authoritative price or royalty arrangement.
9. Royalties and Payouts
Royalty percentages, payout schedules, payout thresholds, and other account-specific financial arrangements are governed by the commercial agreement separately accepted for the applicable author or publisher account.
Those commercial terms are versioned separately from these public Publishing Terms.
SayeBook will not treat an update to this public page alone as acceptance of a new account-specific royalty percentage or payout arrangement.
10. Refunds, Reversals, and Invalid Transactions
If a transaction is refunded, reversed, charged back, determined to be fraudulent, or otherwise invalidated, royalties associated with that transaction may be reversed or adjusted.
SayeBook should not make duplicate royalty deductions for the same transaction reversal.
Applicable adjustments will be reflected in the relevant reporting or accounting records.
11. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Content
SayeBook does not prohibit responsible use of artificial-intelligence tools merely because AI was used during the creative process.
Authors remain responsible for the legality, originality, accuracy, quality, rights, and policy compliance of everything they submit, regardless of the tools used to create or assist with it.
Content that is substantially generated using AI or automated generation must be disclosed to SayeBook during the submission process when SayeBook requests such information.
AI or automation must not be used to submit infringing, deceptive, impersonating, spam-like, misleading, or mass-produced low-value works.
Disclosure to SayeBook does not necessarily mean that SayeBook will publicly label the work as AI-generated.
13. Suspension or Removal by SayeBook
SayeBook may restrict, suspend, or remove a title when reasonably necessary because of a violation of these Publishing Terms or another applicable SayeBook policy, intellectual-property concerns, fraud, material misrepresentation, security concerns, legal requirements, or absence of necessary distribution rights.
Depending on the circumstances, SayeBook may request correction before taking stronger action.
Serious circumstances may require immediate restriction or removal.
14. Previously Purchased Titles
Removal of a title from future sale does not necessarily remove the title from the libraries of customers who previously purchased it.
Continued access may nevertheless be restricted when required by law, intellectual-property rights, security requirements, loss of necessary distribution rights, or other circumstances that make continued delivery unlawful or impracticable.
Customer remedies, where applicable, are handled consistently with the SayeBook Terms of Service and Refund Policy.
15. Reconsideration
An author may request reconsideration of a significant editorial or enforcement decision, such as rejection or removal of a title, through SayeBook's designated support or Contact process.
A request for reconsideration does not guarantee reversal of the original decision.
SayeBook may require additional information or evidence before reconsidering a decision.
16. Ending the Publishing Relationship
Ending your publishing relationship with SayeBook does not automatically erase legitimate transaction histories, accounting records, outstanding financial obligations, customer licenses, or records SayeBook reasonably needs to retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes.
Personal information will be handled consistently with the SayeBook Privacy Policy.
17. Relationship to Other Terms
Authors remain subject to other applicable SayeBook policies, including the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Content Guidelines, Acceptable Use Policy, Refund Policy, and Copyright Policy.
Where a separately accepted commercial agreement establishes specific royalty, payout, or other account-specific commercial terms, that agreement controls those specific commercial matters.
18. Changes
SayeBook may update these Publishing Terms as its services, policies, or legal obligations change.
Material changes will be appropriately communicated and reflected by an updated effective date.
Changes to separately accepted commercial terms will follow the acceptance and versioning process applicable to those agreements.
