Publishing terms

The default terms under which authors and publishers list titles on SayeBook: rights granted, editorial approval, royalties and termination.

Ownership and licence

You keep full ownership of your work. Listing a title on SayeBook does not transfer copyright.

By default, publishing is non-exclusive: you may sell the same title elsewhere unless a specific agreement with us says otherwise.

You grant SayeBook only the rights needed to host, market, sell and deliver the accepted work through the platform — for example, storing files, generating previews, displaying cover art and processing sales.

Editorial approval

Every submission goes through editorial review before it is published. We may request changes, or decline a submission that does not meet our content or quality guidelines.

Royalties

The royalty percentage, payout schedule and thresholds for your account are set out in the separately accepted commercial agreement for your account, not in this public summary.

Where the commercial agreement and this page differ, the commercial agreement prevails. It is versioned and only changes when you accept a new version — it is never silently replaced.

Format-specific terms

Ebook, audiobook and print terms can differ — for example print introduces production and shipping costs that affect the net amount available for royalties. Any format-specific terms are stated in your commercial agreement.

Refunds and reversals

When a sale of your title is refunded, the royalty already accrued on that sale is reversed in the same reporting period, so refunded sales are not counted twice.

Termination and removal

You can request removal of a title at any time; it stops being sold going forward, though customers who already purchased it keep their licence.

We may suspend or remove a title that breaches these terms, our content guidelines, or intellectual property rights, and will tell you why.

Your responsibilities

You confirm that you hold the rights needed to publish the work and that your metadata (title, description, category, pricing) is accurate.

You are responsible for correcting inaccurate metadata promptly when we or a reader flags it.
